One of our members, who's had a lot of experience of being referred to support and training services for single parents on low incomes explains that "Other organisations will tell you you’re equal. But you don’t really feel it. It doesn’t matter how good the course or activity is, without equality we are exactly where we feel we belong – at the bottom. So when we kicked off the hierarchy at Skills Network, our members felt as important as everyone else in the room - for the first time in ages for some of them."
